Angelina and the Princess (book)

Synopsis[]

Angelina stays up all night when she hears that she's invited for a royal performance. However, the next morning, Angelina doesn't feel well, and decides to go out of the door of her home with nobody watching. She arrives at Miss Lilly's academy, and when she dances as beautifully as she could, her lack of energy makes her drop to the floor with a thump, causing her friends Flora and Felicity to have the lead roles. Angelina heads home and her mother is shocked that she came out of the house even when she had a fever. Angelina is so disappointed that she wants to quit ballet dancing, but when she has an early night, her energy is back up to par, and she decides against quitting. However, on the night of the performance, Flora sprains her ankle, and when an understudy is needed, Angelina decides to dance in Flora's place. Angelina dances very elegantly, and the performance becomes a runaway success. Then, Angelina meets Princess Sophie and Angelina's in for a treat!

Trivia[]

The 2002 TV series special, The Show Must Go On, is loosely based on this book, albeit in a more festive fashion.
